Since 2021, Not Just Love Stories intended to explore the theme from different perspectives, so Cheng Jen-pei and Wei Ze, both visual artists, were invited to join the project and conduct preliminary research based on the issue of their interest, which would later evolve into the creation. It was a Tainan-Indonesia migrant marriage that Cheng attended in the field research that triggered her interest in nuptial objects, leading to her creative project in 2022 -“When Spices Become Nuptial Ingredients". Here, "Indonesian migrant workers with intercultural marriage or in love" have become her study objects. Wei Ze’s “Demigod” focuses on the "unregistered Southeast Asian babies" with difficulties in identity recognition in Taiwan. As both projects involve intimate personal feelings and relationships, they needed to be very careful in the way of research and creation. It is hoped to further extend and deepen the dialogue through the works.
Also, in Jinwanwan's field research project, artists Liu Chun-liang, Wu Mei-chi, and Lai Wei-yu were invited to a one-week stationing. During these few days, the three creators used their own ways to interact with the spaces, people, and objects in the surroundings and turned them into staged works and activities.
